Lindsay Newman is an avid volunteer in the community and enjoys opportunities where she can connect with youth and help them to recognize and build upon their skill sets.
Director of External Affairs
She is also a Project Coordinator at Skills Canada NL, Co-Lead (Internal) at TEDxHarboursidePark, a Business student at Memorial University and the recipient of the 2020 CACUSS Student Leadership Award.
Lindsay enjoys building her networks and interacting with other community builders, which is why she loves Newfoundland and Labrador so much. As NL is filled with many passionate people that are always willing to lend a hand, she enjoys working with her community on all levels.
Lindsay enjoys her role at NL Eats because she believes that food is something that everybody has a right to, but recognizes the barriers that many folks face to accessing it. Lindsay uses her role in many ways to bring youth into the conversation surrounding food insecurity by supporting them as they recognize their skill sets and how they might use them to make effective change in their communities.
Lindsay is a major foodie and therefore spends a lot of her free time trying out new recipes. Her favourite food is nachos which is a very versatile food that she loves to change up every time she makes them. When she isn’t cooking or baking something new, she enjoys listening to podcasts or watching videos that force her to think differently about the ways we commonly do things in our society.
Lindsay has a hard time getting through the day without a fresh iced coffee, so you can often find her with a cup in her hand!
One thing that Lindsay has yet to do is travel outside of the Atlantic provinces, and looks forward to a time when she can finally change that.
